ABOUT US

You start the journey of becoming a play therapist because you love working with children and their families. The path to becoming a play therapist and to growing into an expert in your craft is long and involves experience, ongoing education, and consultation. All of which can add up to a serious investment of time, money and energy.

Learn Play Therapy gives clinicians focusing on play therapy the convenience and flexibility to earn APT-approved continuing education hours online or in-person. We offer quality training, based on industry-standard research and texts, in a format that helps minimize expenses and time away from your business & life.

(APT Approved Provider 15-421)

Learn Play Therapy gives you the chance to earn contact APT-approved hours in live online presentations, all based on industry standard texts and research. Set aside a morning to learn, and get back to your clients after school.  You’ll get credit from the Association for Play Therapy for continuing education that counts toward requirements for becoming a Registered Play Therapist, as well as for Texas continuing education. (If you’re not in Texas, we offer course descriptions you can submit to your board for consideration.)

While completing requirements to become a Registered Play Therapist-Supervisor, Lynn struggled with finding quality, contact-hour seminars that would minimize both out-of-pocket expenses and the lost income from being away from her practice. After educating professionals and interns at Small Steps Nurturing Center in a weekly play therapy seminar she wrote and presented, Lynn decided to expand the trainings and offer them online to help other clinicians.

Lynn has worked with young children and their families for more than 20 years, 14 of which have been in private practice. In addition to developing and presenting material through Learn Play Therapy, she has presented play therapy education at her alma mater, the University of Houston Graduate College of Social Work, at the University of St. Thomas, to private groups and at public schools, and online in webinars for Kids, Inc. Lynn is an Association for Play Therapy Approved Continuing Education Provider (APT Approved Provider 15-421) If you are ready to get started or have questions, contact us.
